2025 Northern Hemisphere Winners

The decision making panel at nPAE has had a serious job on its hands for the 2025 Northern Hemisphere astrophotography competition. 12 finalists of this quality, an easy decision do not make!

To get to the final is a win in its own right and on balance any of these images are worthy winners.

In reverse order, the judges have decided….

3rd place Alessandro Flare X2.9

This is a beautiful capture of the corona sphere and coronal mass ejection. The contrast and detail is superb!

Wins: nPAE Gift Pack (Large +Small torch + carbon fibre pen)

2nd place Gyorgy Mars 2024-25

This is superb set of images presented as a nice infographic. Both ice caps are clearly visible as are features like the Hellas Planitia, Arabia Terra and Elysium Planitia.

1st place Rod Wolf’s Cave Nebula (LDN 1217)

Taking advantage of a remote telescope and extensive capability in post processing, Wolf’s Cave Nebula demonstrates the highest level of the art of astrophotography. The close up reveals a stunning jewel box of stars with dust lanes and nebula.

Wins: £200 and the nPAE 2025 Northern Hemisphere Competition.
